HTTP utility

Fixed an issue where creating a second webhook with the Incoming HTTP Request trigger step in the same session caused an error.

Fixed an issue where the "Create record" and "Update record" actions returned a ""Fields" is required" error when running a flow, regardless of whether field values were provided.

Moving projects that use custom connectors

When you move a project that uses a custom connector to a different team, the custom connector is now moved along with it.

Important  Moving a project with a custom connector affects all other projects in the current team that use that connector. Review which projects share the connector before proceeding. Those projects can be moved to the new team individually afterward.

HTTP utility

Fixed an issue where adding an Incoming HTTP Request trigger step would cause an error. This occurred consistently when adding a webhook trigger in a new session, and could also occur after canceling out of an account connection prompt.

Templates

You can now create custom templates from your existing projects. These templates contain all the flows from the original project, can be used to create a copy of an existing project—for example to migrate to new or different services without affecting your flows already in production—and they can be shared with other teams that you're a part of.

To address various issues, the following actions have been updated to use the latest version of the Pipedrive API:

With this change, the required format of certain field values has changed from comma-separated values to JSON objects. For example, when entering a value in the Email field:

    This fix is especially important for organizations that rely on automated file uploads for business-critical documents, particularly when manual alternatives aren't viable for sensitive materials.

Claris FileMaker connector

  • Fixed several issues caused by non-English characters in scripts and field names:

    • Run script (trigger) - Scripts with Chinese or Japanese characters no longer return errors when the flow is triggered.

    • Find record (action) - Fields with Japanese "double-byte" characters no longer cause an error when the step is run.

    • Create record (action) - Certain special characters, for example "ó," no longer cause an error when the step is run.

To access custom apps via the Claris FileMaker connector:

  1. Enable both the OData (fmodata) extended privilege in your target app.

  2. Enable this API in the Connectors tab of your FileMaker Server Admin Console or FileMaker Cloud Admin Console.

  3. For FileMaker Server, ensure the host is running FileMaker Server 21.1.0 or later.

Legacy notice

Claris FileMaker Server and Claris FileMaker Cloud connectors

With the introduction of the new Claris FileMaker connector, the existing Claris FileMaker Server and Claris FileMaker Cloud connectors have been transitioned to legacy status.

Please be assured that your existing integrations will remain fully functional through at least the end of 2025. We will provide at least 3 months advance notice before any changes to support status, ensuring you have sufficient time to complete your transition to the new connector.

For new integrations, we recommend using the new Claris FileMaker connector. To proactively ensure your flows remain robust and to leverage the new connector's benefits, we encourage you to explore and test the new connector and plan to transition your existing workflows at your convenience.

Monthly step limit calculation

With this release, steps provided by Claris, which includes steps from Claris Apps and utilities as well as If-Then, Repeat, Stop, and On Error steps, no longer count toward your monthly step limit. Only steps from third-party apps will count toward your monthly step limit.

Note  Steps from custom connectors still count toward your monthly step limit.

For example, if a flow has 10 steps but failed on step 3 during a run, the column will show 3/10 to indicate that only 3 steps were run in that flow, including the step that returned an error.

Fixed an issue preventing users from accessing data in their Google Account. Due to security limitations, users are only able to interact with files and folders created by Google connectors within Claris Connect. We are currently looking into a custom connector template that would allow users to interact with their files and folders without having to upload them from Claris Connect first.

For Claris Studio and Claris Connect users, the Claris Studio connector is now available for you to integrate your Claris Studio data with your FileMaker custom apps and many third-party apps. Dropbox

Added the Wait for completed upload field to the Upload file from URL action, which gives you the option to tell the step to wait for the upload to Dropbox to complete before continuing to the next step in the flow—useful when uploading large files.

Note  The upload to Dropbox will time out after 15 minutes, which may cause the step to fail.

Quickbooks

Create invoice and Update invoice - Added the Invoice date field.

Quickbooks sandbox

Added the Quickbooks sandbox connector to allow you to work with your Quickbooks sandbox companies separately from your production companies and the production Quickbooks connector. If you were signed in to a sandbox environment with the existing Quickbooks connector, your Quickbooks steps will be converted to Quickbooks sandbox steps.

Moving projects

You now have the ability to move projects to and from teams that you're associated with. When you move a project from one team to another, all flows, app connections, settings, and email notifications are preserved. See Move a project in Claris Connect Help.

Shopify connector

To address changes with authentication process, the existing Shopify connector has been deprecated in favor of a new Shopify connector. The new Shopify connector requires creating a Shopify custom app so that you can generate an API access token for authenticating to Claris Connect. Important  To avoid disruption of your flows, replace all uses of the old connector in flows with the new connector as soon as possible.

Apple School Manager/OneRoster

  • When filtering records by school with the OneRoster action "Get data for Apple School Manager," a student or staff member belonging to multiple schools resulted in duplicate records.

  • In some cases, retrieving Apple School Manager data resulted in more locations than expected.

OneRoster

Claris Connect support for the OneRoster API via the OneRoster connector has been enhanced to provide more flexibility when creating flows. The OneRoster connector allows you to work with data from your Student Information System (SIS) and upload it to Apple School Manager. In addition to the connector, two help topics were created to help you use the connector as well as troubleshoot integration issues you may encounter.

Email notification system for errors

  • Added a notification system that emails project creators if an error occurs during a flow run. To enable error email notifications, click a flow then do one of the following:

    • Click Bell icon next to the name of the flow.

    • Click the Settings tab, then turn on Send error email notifications.

  • List all scheduled events: Use this action to return details of all scheduled events.

Monthly API request limit

Quick access to flows when deleting webhooks and file accounts

When attempting to delete webhooks and file accounts used in flows, the dialog that appears now has links to the flows using the webhook or file account. Webhooks and file accounts must be removed from any flows they're used in before they can be deleted.

Integration with Apple School Manager

  • Sign in with Apple ID - Apple School Manager users can now use their existing Managed Apple ID to sign up for and sign in to Claris Connect.

  • Onboarding - A streamlined onboarding process helps get school districts started with Claris Connect and allows them to sync their Student Information System (SIS) data with Apple School Manager in only a few minutes.

  • IMS Global Certification - Claris Connect is now IMS Global Certified for the OneRoster specification, which supports secure sharing of roster, course, enrollment, and grades data with Apple School Manager.

  • SIS connectors with templates

    • SIS connectors are now available for Aeries, Follett Aspen, and Skyward, which adhere to the OneRoster API specification.

    • For each connector, an action is available that automates importing and uploading data from the SIS directly to Apple School Manager. Preconfigured substeps in this action perform all the necessary data processing before the upload.

    • A flow template is available for each SIS connector. The templates provide a wizard-driven experience for creating a flow that automates daily sync of roster data to Apple School Manager.

  • Apple School Manager templates area - A new section in the Templates tab provides quick access to templates specifically designed for syncing SIS data with Apple School Manager.

Enhancements

  • History tab - New icons help you quickly identify the status of steps in a flow run.

Known issues, limitations, and workarounds

The following limitations are known and being worked on:

  • Users already signed in to Claris Connect must sign out before accepting an Apple School Manager invitation.

  • Users must use their Managed Apple ID to sign in to Claris Connect if they already have a Claris Connect Account. The accounts are not shared.

  • Processing an Apple School Manager license can take up to an hour.

    Note  Customers should contact Claris® Sales if their license is not processed.

APIs, technologies, or features to be deprecated

As Claris Connect evolves, the list of supported technologies, APIs, and features will change. As part of this evolution, certain connectors, actions, and features may be deprecated in favor of newer ones. Although deprecation does not mean the immediate removal of an item, you should migrate your flows away from deprecated technologies because these technologies may be removed in a future version of the product.
